jus here to update on olympics for table tennis...basically nth much but singapore made it to the semis!!! details here:

Women's team:

Men's team:
Singapore vs Canada : 3-0
Singapore vs Croatia : 1-3
Singapore vs Germany : 1-3

i guess all of us are more interested in the women's one but jus an update on the men's one as well nt forgetting their effort put in thou they are no longer able to get any medals. so all the best for team singapore as they play semis 2moro and hopefully they wud be able to get into finals to ensure that singapore wud get its first medal since 48 yrs ago. kudos to them and all the best!

whoever it was who wanted a sports trip post...here it is:

1st day: The whole sports team went off in different buses thru the customs of sg and malaysia. it took us quite fast but it was a rather long 2.5 hrs of bus ride to the place where we boarded the ferry n after that was yet another 1 hr of ferry ride that made u wsh u werent there cos its seriously freaking long. after we reached there behind time we wen off for lunch immediately before we wen on to set up our tents which were meant to keep 8 ppl in one. it was more likely that if there were only 6 in a tent it wud b more comfortable but its a camp after all so nth much to grumble about i guess. after which we wen on with our activity grps for different activities. for grp 3 (which we were in with the agym ppl) the first activity was snorkeling and many of us did not go for it as we were rather scared but i guess it was a gd experience for pjw, ky, sarah and the agym gals who wen into the waters and saw things that were in there. however everything wasnt the best as we were nt able to change over to another boat in the middle of the sea due to the high tides so it was of much delay and some only had less than half an hr to snorkel and it was pretty sad while the rest of us idled along the side of the sea where the rest snorkelled. after that we wen back to the island we were staying at for a bath and then we started to hav dinner while the rest already finished theirs. thks to the swim team for helping us with the cutlery and drinks! after that we had a debrief in the pavilion with one of the instructor's father who was also an instructor also some tips after the first day. and after which everyone was jus beat and wen to 'bed' (:

day 2: we woke up in the mrng and wen on for our activities after breakfast. many of us wanted to do kayaking so we wen to ask tym if we can go ahead with it and he said he need to check with sl so we jus wen and sl dint say anything much and sort of allowed us to go for it. it was rather fun as we were paired up and while jingwen wanted to capsize she didnt. instead huiyue and ali capsized. ok shall stop making fun of them (thou its quite funny when they capsized so near the shore). ya den we had extra time so we played frisbee with cherlyn (our grp facilitator). after that we were given time again to wash up and so and after that we wen for lunch. after lunch was again activities and we had the project aware where jingwen kept on falling asleep and many of us were dozing off also. even the instructor knows about it but i guess he jus doesnt wan to wake us to interrupt himself or something. but it was quite obvious he saw. and after that we were supposed to have our nex activity which was trekking but it started raining real heavily so all activities were cancelled and we dint go for trekking. i guess some of us are glad while some are really disappointed. it was quite wasted thou as it was one of the important activities. so we spent our time doing nth much but we were playing games within the 10 of us as we played the 2 truth 1 lie game and also the murderer game. was quite fun actually. and after that we wen to bathe after those that wen for water activities are done with their baths. after which we had dinner (sadly there was no bbq cos of the weather). n there was no campfire either so we had performances in the pavilion and it was rather funny as we made fun of some teachers and ppl during the performances. rather entertaining and ongoing thanks to the sec 4 batch especially sec 4 hope. they kept everything going so that no time was spent stoning. everything was well except for the flies in there. there was alot of them so its quite annoying. after that we wen to check our tents where we slept in and majority of us ended up in the pavilion due to the wet tents. before we wen to sleep we even tried to make hearts and stars to prepare for the cultural exchange that was on the next day :D

day 3: well as mentioned we wen to the village for the exchange after breakfast in the morning. it was quite ok except for the fact that we jus cant communicate with them. but it was rather fun seeing them learn to make the hearts we taught them to make successfully. then we took a walk around the village with them and then we wen back on a ferry as we waved to them rather unwillingy as many of us dint wan to go i guess. after that we played concentration on the ferry. we were at the top deck and there was a bar in the middle. n obviously the joker once again created lots of fun for us as she wasnt concentrating well and was made to do a forfeit. we wanted her to either do pole dance or giv a sexy pose using the pole. apparently sl and tym saw everything from the lower deck and were laughing their heads off. the worst thing is no one realised until later when tym bursted out telling huiyue that she seriously cant concentrate that we realised he saw everything. and after we were back at the island we were staying we started to pack up everything and pack up our tents as most of them have finished doing so. after that we began cleaning up the rubbish in that area before gathering again before lunch. then sl got a lil angry and started a small lecture with the 'lost and found' session whereby ppl got their things which they lef behind. after which was lunch obviously and many did not eat much as they were afraid of puking in the ferry. and in the end we were in ferry 3 with hockey and netball. ky wq clara sarah were playing on the ferry while the rest were sleeping. quite fast it seems as we were nt stoning on the ferry. after that we wen on to the bus ride and we started a next round of games but this time round its all of us playing. was very fun and helped us kill time thou we still ended up sleeping most of the time. we played the sheep one, the bombomcha game that we learnt at the camp, the bombomchaki game, the game with numbers, the concentration game and of course also the game with names. by the time we reached sch we were all dying of laughter and also of tiredness as it was far off the scheduled 6pm that we were supposed to reach as we ended up reaching at 7 plus.

overall it was a great experience for us as it is the first experience for many of us and i think majority of us enjoyed it thou many of them were very conscious about the dirt and all. but i guess all these cant be avoided if u really wanna hav fun. i guess this is detailed enuf. hopefully the whole team wud be able to make it for the sports trip nex yr (after we come in top 4 for both divisions and hopefully enter finals too!)
